Our service is completely free and you have no obligation to do anything. Quotes are free and so are accounts.

Simple: tell everyone you know. We feel we are doing some good for our planet by keeping unwanted electronics out of landfills, so tell everyone about us. Become a facebook fan and share your experience on our wall and connect with us on twitter. We will even get you started by sending you some bumper stickers and business cards, just email us with your address and we will send you as many as you want. Slap that sticker on your car bumper, your notebook for school or your friends' forehead. You can also send positive comments to us here.

Do you accept Tronics from outside the United States?

Yes. We accept Tronics from ANYWHERE in the world. We would even accept shipments from space but there isn't postal service there yet. We do not pay for shipping from outside of the United States yet. Please contact your local postal services about shipping to BuyMyTronics.

I have a GPS device, PC Laptop, digital camera, digital camcorder and/or other electronic device. Do you take those too?

Soon, very soon. Keep checking out our site. We hope to have a steady and continued expansion into everything, then world domination. We will probably be adding a new gadget every few months or so. I'm a bit nervous about selling my items to you, can you please reassure me?

Have no fear. We are an honest company and take pride in the service we offer to our customers. BuyMyTronics.com is an accredited business with the Better Business Bureau and we hold an A rating with their organization. We provide the highest level of customer service we can provide, and we make sure that we are honest with our customers. There will never be a time when you will be charged for our services; we provide free shipping labels for you to send us your items, and if you don't agree with a re-price we will happily send back your item to you at no cost.

Is my data safe?

ABSOLUTELY – Every item that comes in to our office is wiped of all personal data. Additionally any computers or devices that have hard drives are wiped to Department of Defense standards.

Is my personal information safe? Does BuyMyTronics sell personal information to other companies?

BuyMyTronics recognizes that privacy is very important. We are people too and really hate spam and telemarketers (so we would never share any of our client's information with any third party). All information submitted to BuyMyTronics will be used only by BuyMyTronics. When submitting information such as your name, email address, address, phone number and Paypal ID, the only purpose and use will be for conducting business with BuyMyTronics. Again, any information provided to BuyMyTronics will remain private and not shared with any other parties. What does BuyMyTronics do with my items I sell?

There are three main redistribution categories your gadget will fit into:

Reuse – Typically sold to other customers via eBay, Amazon or other channels. We prefer reuse, because it gives a gadget a direct second life and typically provides someone a more affordable way to purchase the hottest gadgets or to find a replacement.

Refurbish – Many items are refurbished in house by our techs, like iPods, laptops, some cell phones and other gadgets. Other items are resold in groups to companies that specialize in refurbishing.

Recycle – Our smallest redistribution channel that includes that massive phone you don't use from the 80's and 90's, circuit boards and other items. All recycle or scrap items are shipped to domestic and typically locally-based Denver Metro partners that adhere highest levels of ethical recycling. One of our largest recycling partners is Basel Action Network (BAN) certified.

Where do all of your scraps and un-reusable Tronics go to?

We work with a Basel Action Network (BAN) certified recycler. Rest assured that our Tronic trash and eWaste stays domestic, will be recycled ethically and responsibly, and won't end up in a land fill or vat of acid in a third-world nation. To date, we have kept tons of waste out of landfills.

"The Meat" - Selling Your Tronics
What is BuyMyTronics definition of a 100% working item? What does broken mean?

A 100% working item by definition at BuyMyTronics is a gadget working exactly as it would have, if it were brand new from the factory. Meaning there cannot be a tripped water damage sensor, a buzzing sound, one or more buttons not working, a broken or loose hinge, a cracked screen (a cracked façade is okay) or anything else that impedes the use of your Tronic. If any of these things mentioned or something similar is occurring with your Tronic, it most likely won't be considered 100% working. A rule of thumb; If there is any of trick you need to do to get your Tronic to work, it will most likely be considered a broken item. If you still are unsure if your item is counted as 100% working or broken, email us here.

I'm not sure what condition my item is in, how can I tell?

When you are submitting your item, simply place your cursor over each condition. A tool tip box will pop up, and it will give you a description on how we define each condition. These tool tips are straightforward and easy to follow. Please try to submit your item as honestly as you can.

I don't have everything my item came with, can I still sell it?

Of course, just select what accessories you have on our submission page and we will take it from there.

I'm getting $0 for a quote, is your site broken?

Nope, our site is working just fine. Not every item that we have listed on our website will have value. A good rule of thumb is that if your item is 5 years old or older, it probably will have little to no value. We list these items on our site so that you know that we still accept them to recycle them, even if we aren't able to pay for them.

What if BuyMyTronics.com finds my item(s) to be in a different condition than I submitted on my order?

If there is a price change of more than $25 or 25% we will inform you via email. For more details on this matter, please see our Terms of Use section.

What if I do not agree with a re-price?

If you do not agree with our re-price or diagnosis you have a few options; you can have your item(s) returned to you or we can provide more information on why your item is not passing tests. For more details on this matter, please see our Terms of Use section.

What happens if I don't respond to emails regarding a price change?

If your item does not match your submission, you will be emailed. If you do not reply you will get two more emails over the next 7 days. If you do not reply, your item will be re-priced per our website pricing and your new payment amount will be sent.

We absolutely accept bulk sales, and prefer that you contact us by email to discuss the specifics. You can also learn more information about how we handle bulk orders here.

I can't find my item(s) at BuyMyTronics.com, what do I do?

Let us know by contacting us here. We are pretty entrepreneurial and will consider most gadgets. Also, we are always adding and updating our list so please let us know if we do not have your item listed so we can add your Tronic or category or at least consider adding it in the future. A helpful trick to finding items on our website is to enter the model number in first, and then the common name of the item.

What happens if I cannot figure out what type of gadget I have?

Most items have their model number or model type behind their batteries. If you still aren't able to figure out what item you have, contact us here, we are always here to help.

We take most personal used, new, or broken Tronics. Smart / Cell Phones including, but not limited to; Blackberry RIM, Palm Treo, Palm Centro, Apple iPhone Original and 3G, Nokia, HTC, LG, Pantech, Motorola, Sanyo, Sony-Ericsson, Samsung and HP. MP3 Players including, but not limited to; iPod Touch, iPod Classic, iPod Video, iPod Nano, iPod Photo, iPod Mini, iPod Shuffle, Creative, Samsung, Cowon, Dell, Sandisk and Toshiba. Game Consoles / Systems including, but not limited to; Nintendo Wii, Nintendo Game Cube, Nintendo DS Lite, Nintendo Gameboy Advance, Sony Playstation 3 / PS3, Playstation 2 / PS2, Playstation 1 / PS1, Playstation Portable / PSP, Microsoft X-Box 360 or Microsoft X-Box. If we missed anything, we take that too.

What types of Cell Phones, Mobile Phones, Smart Phones and PDAs do you take?

Pretty much all of them! Apple iPhone, Blackberry RIM, Palm Treo, Palm Centro, Nokia, HTC, LG, Pantech, Motorola, Sanyo, Sony Ericsson, Samsung, HP and all the rest. We accept Cell Phones from every carrier including Verizon, ATT, Sprint, Cingular, Nextel, T-Mobile, US Cellular, Orange, Rogers and all the rest. Also, we accept Unlocked cell Phones as well.

What condition does my iPod, iPhone, Cell Phone, Apple Laptop, Apple Desktop, Apple TV or Game Console have to be in?

ANY CONDITION! We accept iPods, Cell Phones, iPhones, Apple Laptops, Apple Desktop Computers, Apple TV, MP3 Players and Game Consoles NEW, USED, BROKEN, Old and Damaged. We will accept your Dead, Water Damaged, Weird, Smashed, Burned, Cracked, LCD Damaged, Hard Drive Broken, Sad Face, Folder Icon, Ports Damaged, USB Plug Broken, No Sound, No Picture, Old or Depleted Battery, Opened, or any other type of damage or combination of damage possible. Also, if you have no idea what is wrong with your electronic device, we will take that too. For more details on this matter please see our Terms of Use section.

Shipping Your Item
Where do I send my item? How do I get it to you? What do I do?

Can I combine shipping? Can I send more than one item in at a time?

Of course, more money for you, so why not? If you have an order with multiple items, please pack everything in one box. If you are not able to fit all of your items in one box, we'll allow you to use one additional box. Please see the Terms and Conditions for more details on shipping your item.

Do I have to go in person to the Post Office to ship my item?

If you do not want to go anywhere, print up your USPS label and package up your box you can always hand your box to a United States postal carrier. If you have printed out your FedEx label and packaged up your box you can call FedEx to pick up your box.

I'm not able to print off my label, can you send me one?

Only certain orders qualify for labels to be sent to them. If you are unable to print off a label, and you do not qualify for a label to be sent to you, visit your local library or office support store to print off your label. If you have any further questions contact us at customercare@buymytronics.com.

Where is the prepaid return box you were supposed to send me?

Please make sure you order qualified for a prepaid box, most items get a free label to print out and attach to a box, so review your order to be totally sure. Typically the post office should deliver your prepaid box within a few days. But if it does not arrive, please contact us. We will gladly get you a new box.

The prepaid box I received does not fit the item I have. What do I do?

Please contact us here and our shipping team will be able to help get you the correct sized box. If you do not want to wait for the box, you can simply transfer the label on the box you received to a new box that will fit all of your items.

Is my package insured against loss or damage?

Yes. Incoming mail is insured as long as it is scanned in by the carrier that is going to deliver it. Any returns are insured up to the value that we find your item to be in. If you have any questions, please refer to our Terms and Conditions.

Can I ship my Tronics with a carrier other than USPS or FedEx?

We only offer free shipping with USPS and FedEx. If you choose to use another carrier, it would be at your own expense.

How do I ensure nothing breaks during the shipping process? How do I package up my box?

The original packaging works best. If you don't have your original packaging pad your Tronics by using old newspapers or something similar as padding (it's the most environmentally friendly option out there). Bubble wrap, also works very well. Additionally, please use a sturdy box and ample tape to ensure all contents stay in your package. If you are unsure of how to pack your item properly, we encourage having items professionally wrapped.

Payment
How long does the whole process take from the time I send my item(s) to you to the time I receive my payment?

Obviously we can't control how long the delivery times from Fed Ex, UPS and USPS will take, but on average it only takes a few days. Once your order arrives to our facility, it will take about a week for your order to be fully diagnosed, processed, and for a payment to be sent to you. If you would like to receive your money as quickly as possible, we suggest choosing Pay Pal as your payment option as these payments are instantaneous when they are made. Checks will take a few days to arrive to you through the mail as they are sent via first class mail.

What payment options do I have?

Other than PayPal, we will send a check for no additional charge. PayPal is pretty cool though. If you don't have it, you should get it. Also, you can have your payment donated to the charity of your choice.

How do I see where my item is in the process?

Go to BuyMyTronics.com, click "LOGIN" in the top middle part of the screen. Enter your email address used for your order, enter your password and press "LOGIN NOW" (the green icon right below). You should now be viewing your account history. If you're not, click "MY HISTORY" in the top middle part of the screen. In the information below, you will find your order and where it in our process.

How do I get my password or user name if I lost it?

Go to BuyMyTronics.com click "LOGIN" in the top middle part of the screen. If trying to recover your password, type your email address to the field, "Email Address" and press "Forgot Your Password? Click Here!" below. If you lost your user name / email address associated with your account click "Forgot Your Username? Contact Us!" and we will be able to help.

How do I edit or update account information?

Go to BuyMyTronics.com click "LOGIN" in the top middle part of the screen. Enter your email address used for your order, enter your password and press "LOGIN NOW" (the green icon right below). At this point you are logged in and are sent back to the main page. Click "MY ACCOUNT" in the top middle part of the screen. You are now in the "MY ACCOUNT" page and can make any needed changes to your account, when you are done press save on the bottom of the screen.
