Mashable reports of a study by Nielsen that has an interesting finding: Smartphone penetration among young folks in the lowest income bracket is higher than older, whether segments of the population. Our take: Branding is king. Just like inner city, low-income youths fighting over pairs of Jordans in the 90s, Apple and Droid have made having a smartphone so cool, teens and those in their early 20s flock to them despite tiny paychecks.

Don't mess with Apple

The Next Web reports that Apple means business. It is threatening to sue Proview, a company it's been embroiled in a controversy of iPad naming rights for quite some time — if it doesn't shut it's pie hole. Our take: Don't mess with Apple. They are as aggressive as Microsoft back in the day (remember the Simpsons episode?).
