The new CEO, Tim Cook, just announced the iPhone 4S! Here's the skinny: Looks the same, twice as powerful, releases on the 14th, preorders on the 7th, many more details after the jump!
The "Let's Talk iPhone" event covered a lot of details! We'll start from the beginning, ending with the iPhone 4S as the world now knows it.
Cards:
iPhoto already has a method by where you can assemble and print an entire photo album from your computer, and then have it mailed directly to you with just a few simple clicks. Well Apple has brought that to the iPhone now with Cards. Just select what card you want, the picture, and the recipient, and it will be mailed directly to them! Your phone will even let you know when your card has been delivered! Cost?

Find My Friends:
This is kind of like Foursquare in that you can tag yourself wherever you are, and your friends will know! Get a beach party started, and your friends can find where you ended up on the beach. There are also parental controls so you can make sure that there's no iStalking happening with your little ones.
The app itself looks really slick! What's next?
Updated Nano Software:
The software of the Nano has been updated to reflect customer needs. The interface has been made to be a little bit bigger so that it's easier to navigate. Apple has also added 16 different watch faces because of all the watch accessories that have been made available.
.... So many choices!
Prices:
Pretty clear cut, but another fun product has also been added, the White iPod Touch! Prices have been reduced $30 across the board for all products. Pretty nice if you ask me, and here's the new iPhone pricing:
The iPhone 4S will be priced the same, but added here is a 64gb model! The iphone 4 goes on to budget status with an 8gb version being available for $99, and then what's interesting here is that they're keeping the iPhone 3GS around... but for FREE! A free iPhone? Sure!
Back to the iPhone 4S, guts:
As you can see, the iPhone 4S will have an A5 Dual core processor, which equals about twice the quickness as the old iPhone 4. This will also have a dual core graphics card with up to 7 times faster graphics! Up on stage they were saying that it's currently better than what all the game consoles have, now THAT'S a proclamation!
The battery of the iPhone 4S is exactly the same as the iPhone 4. Tons of battery life as the above picture illustrates. It certainly comes in handy on those long trips or times where you can't get to a charger.
Apple has introduced a new kind of "hyper threading" antenna that knows how to intelligently sort signals creating amazing clarity, and download speeds! What you see here are the download speeds for the HTC Inspire, Motorola Atrix, and iPhone 4S. Even though the iPhone only has a 3G antenna, it achieves the same speeds as the 4G phones! Talk about efficiency! I'm sure that when it comes out, these speeds will be put to the test.
The camera has got an 8 megapixel bump with 60% more pixels! It appears that a lot of time and thought has been put into this camera to really make it be the best camera possible.
The camera starts up a lot quicker, as well as letting in more light to make the colors more vibrant.
Meet Siri, Your Personal Assistant:
Apple seems to be most excited about this final feature, exclusive to the iPhone 4S. It's called Siri, and it powers the phone's voice commands. Ask it just about anything, and it'll do that for you. You can say such commands as: "what's the definition of mitosis?" "How long until Christmas?" and even "remind me to call mom when I leave work." That last command is probably the most spectacular. It sets up a "geo fence" around your place of work, and when you leave it, it triggers a message telling you to call your mother, and the option to call at the push of a button. This is truly amazing, and only available on the iPhone 4S.
There you have it! Prices, features, and hardware, all in a nutshell! While we were hoping for more of an iPhone 5 kind of configuration, you have to admit that what we get with the iPhone 4S is very impressive!
