We take in over 6,000 gadgets in various conditions, from broken to sealed-in-the-box new. What happens to your electronic after we receive it is a matter of what kind of device it is, how old it is, and the condition that is is in. First thing’s first: Every time we get an item in, we scan it, and match it to an order in our database. We then process it by diagnosing its functionality and condition and then pay out our customers! But that’s not what you wanted to know, was it? You’re wondering what happens to your gadgets after all that...
Most gadgets have a secondary life beyond the single user. When you’re due for an upgrade, you usually take it, don’t you? But your old phone is usually still working when you opt for a new one, right? We believe in using existing resources by recirculating old electronics that can be fixed, refurbished and resold to new users. So we work with wholesale buyers, third-party auction sites and refurbishers that buy electronics, or even just parts such as batteries, for reuse.
For those items that can only be recycled for scrap, we partner with Certified Recyclers who ensure that no part of any item that passes through our facility will end up trashed in a landfill, locally or overseas. These recyclers have facilities that specialize in breaking down hazardous materials, extracting metals and reusing plastics. Our goal continues to be to take in unwanted electronics that would otherwise be collecting dust in a drawer, or worse, thrown away. Each step of the process we aim to evalute each electronic to make the best use of it in its second life.
