2011: Summer of the iPhone 5 Rumor. Will it come out in September? October? Just which features or changes will we find on this elusive product? Since there are hundreds of speculations out there, we decided to create our own list of the 5 upgrades we would like to see on the iPhone 5. We're just using our imaginations here, not rumors, but we tried to be realistic.
5 Features/Upgrades We Wish to See on the iPhone 5:
1. Most iPhone enthusiasts are hoping for an upgrade to the camera. We're already happy with the promising enhancements that iOS 5 will bring to the iPhone camera, but we'd love to see increased megapixels (I know I said we're not basing this on rumors but word is it may be up to 8mp), better placement of the the camera--perhaps centered on the back and faster capture speed.
2. There has been a lot of speculation on the new design. Is it the same, thinner? Does it have a curved glass front? Honestly, we're just hoping for a larger screen, formated so that there is more display available on the iPhone 5 face instead of having borders that essentially take up space.
3. Louder speakers, nuff said.
4. We'd love to see a gesture-based Home button for easier multi-tasking.
5. Who doesn't wish for a faster (ahem, A5 dual-core) processor? Oh yeah and we really hope that the full HD 1080p video rumors are true.
And a wrap up of the rest of our staff's wish list includes: improvements on durability and the antenna issues, a built in kick-stand, micro-USB port, and open source app development. Ok, we do sound a little bit like we're just crowd-sourcing here but until the iPhone 5 release in September (?) we're going to dream all we want.
